Random Wire behind dashboard

Afternoon all,
First post so go easy on me lol
I got a 6.1 a week ago and turns out the AC doesn't work, which was great as we were travelling up to Northumberland from Gloucestershire the same day. Anyhow the AC is going to be fixed but thought I'd have a little look for the unit behind tje dash in the mean to to see if it was the plastic arm on the servo (turns out it's not but possibly the actual servo itself).

Anyhow after taking the dashboard panels off, I found this wire. Bit of a long shot but I don't suppose anyone knows what it could have been used for? I couldn't really see where it went either.

Not sure either. Is there a conector under that tape?

doh, in my 'ooo whats this wire moment' i didn't check, from recollection i don't think there was

That's the a/c override cable, if you pull it downwards, it'll change the temp to cold.. so the a/c can work.
