Does anyone have this rear skirt on their Van ? If so what arrangement do you use in the event of a puncture? I have discovered the converter who fitted mine has left the spare wheel / bracket in place. The instructions state wheel / bracket must be removed and a pump / sealant used instead.032775D4-67C1-4749-B285-59D480B49290.jpeg

That's going to be tricky.

What's behind the detachable panel with the screws.?

Even with the panel off the ‘frame is still in the way. I think the only way is remove whole bumper, remove wheel and bracket. Then get pump and sealant to use instead of wheel. Tbf the Van wheels are 20 and the spare is 16, so not idea anyway.

so if the plan is to use a pump and sealant anyway. . .

why not just leave the spare wheel as-is and just get your new pump & sealant.?

the only difference will be the slight weight increase of carrying the 16" spare - VS - having to remove and refit the bumper?

thinking, if it was me . . . . id just cut a section of the rear bumper out with a multitool underneath, to allow access to the fitted spare, as i have no faith in air pump and goo. ( and I'm assuming you wouldn't see the cut? , and it wouldn't effect the rigidity?)

++++++++

but totally understand if you didn't want to cut the new bumper.

options:

1- cut bumper and use fitted spare
2- remove bemper and spare - get goo and pump
3- leave spare as-is - get goo and pump

Can you not remove the bracket from the other end. Isn't it a simple hinge ?

hinge side . . . .

I will have a look underneath to see if I could make a bracket that could unbolt from the other end. I can get access to both normal bolts, so could take one out and rotate the bracket ….
Maybe ?
I have to say sealant never seems like a good option.

hi mate where did you get that rear skirt I bought one like that two years ago for 200 sterling on ebby cant seem to find them anywhere now. new van on way !

It was already on when I bought it. The company that fitted it was platinum wave, sollihull.

The only place I’ve seen one is Vanstyle . ABT at £2191.00 !!!!!! Seems very expensive for what you get imo.

There was a few replicas out there for a few hundred pounds seems to be gone off the market now not going to pay anything like that for a bit of plastic
