Push clips removal?

So the installation of a new Kenwood radio and reversing camera is going well from @Absolut5 I even got the camera cable through the tailgate rubber tube thing and preparing to get it into the door. BUT - can I get the panel clips off? NO! I even made a tool to pull them and with so much force that the tail gate closes they don't come out. The 'pin' drops down a bit but I can victually hang from it.

Any clues? Or do I have to drill these out and get new ones?

OK - Panic over - got 4 out now without breaking them. Just hugely more force than I was expecting to apply to a weedy plastic clip. Ordered some spares anyway just in case.
