Pump for Dometic fridge

The pump in our Dometic fridge is kaput. (Monte Carlo, new in 2019) Camperking says the pump alone can't be replaced. The whole fridge needs replacing. The quote is £575, incl. VAT. Anyone had a similar experience? Any suggestions please?

there are plenty of "clone" dometic 50 litre fridges for not much over £300 .
take a punt on one , it surely cant last any less than the dometic ones 6 years.
i wonder how many actual hours the fridge has ran for.
basically you can get 2 for the price of one,
mines being going strong for 6 years , i can split it to fridge/freezer,, full fridge , or full freezer too.
same control panel inside as well ,just hasnt got the door "ajar" lock for when its not being used

How do you know it’s the pump? What was the diagnosis process?

Very helpful, cheers!

When you say the pump has gone I assume you mean the compressor- to do this would involve cutting out the old one. Joining the new one to the pipework, purge the system, vac it out and then regas. So not a simple job especially in the confined space of a small fridge so unless you’re a fridge engineer with a bit of time and patience you are probably best to just replace it. Are you sure it’s the compressor?? What are the symptoms?

My first Waeco had spade connections on the control board to which you could attach an LED which flashed in various ways to diagnose a fault.
I don’t know if this is possible with yours!
I repaired it once by replacing a burnt out Mosfet and the second time I swapped the controller for about £50!
