Hi all,
got our T6 Leisuredrive Vivante last week. Really excited. Weather hasn’t been great since then but spent a trial night in a pub car park lat weekend. The Webasto heater was fierce (a bit too much tbh, do other people think the thermostat is a bit slow to react?). But it was definitely very cosy in the van. Now looking into what gadgets and equipment to get. Had already bought tickets for the Motorhome show in Birmingham last autumn. So going there next weekend to be inspired. It’s all very exciting!

Nice van! If you’ve got the Webasto with the digital controller, the temperature displayed is measured at the air inlet (normally by the driver’s step) so will need to be set lower than you’d like the air temperature to ‘feel’ in the van.

I find that 12 degrees in the footwell is about right for a comfortable temperature for me sitting in the back.

Always loved those high tops, assume you’ve a toilet at the back , any interior pics appreciated, lovely van and hopefully lots of trips/memories

Hi @CAMAO. We’ve had the same problem regulating the temperature. I think it’s down to a bit of trial and error. I believe the problem lies with the cold air sucking in from around the pedals where it’s colder than in the living space where the thermostat is.

We now think of the temperature setting as just numbers rather than the actual temperature.

Webastos and temperature:
I keep telling people that you need to fit an external temperature sensor - I wish that installers fitted them as standard. The problem is that the customer doesn't usually know how the heaters work and the converters/installers are the same generally. Adds about £25 to cost.

By the way, thermostats haven't been used for years now!

Yes, toilet in the back. That was an essential feature for us. Will post more photos later.

We were told there it worked as a thermostat and would switch off if the temperature was reached. Confused now.

It’s a thermostat of sorts, but it measures it at the inlet vent. It never turns off completely, but will tick over very quietly when up to temperature. It needs to measure the incoming air temperature to know how hot or cold the van is.

@oldiebut goodie is referring to a separate temperature sender which can be put in the living space.
