Hi
Can anyone recommend a set of curtains/blinds....I’m thinkung ones that don’t reslly stretch but just pop into place, like a pop up tent.....kind of idea, fits into the window frames...I’m sure I’ve seen them somewhere?
It’s for a kombi.

Thanks

We made our own, tailored to fit and fix them to the frame by using magnets sewn into the hems. Works brilliantly.

Mine also stick on with neodymium magnets and work great, but the ones that came with my van were like you’re asking. They were a bigger version of the kids car window blinds that you sort of roll into a circle to put away and spring open with the tension of the wire frame that holds them in place. I didn’t use them because the material was not remotely light blocking and the shape rounded all the corners off leaving gaps, which is probably an issue with that design.

What brand/supplier are yours then? The magnet ones
Mine are also home made, standard foil screens with Matt black material on the other side for when I want to go stealth and magnets sewn into the hem. I use the 1cm type with a hole through for easier sewing, but you can get all types and sizes dirt cheap from eBay

I would recommend buying neodymium magnets. They are very strong so will ensure the curtains don’t slide off.

Mine are stitched into the hem round the edge of the lining. There is no back or front on mine as they're matt black one side and reflective on the other depending on what I'm using them for. You need to make sure you make them big enough to cover the metal frame of the door. Mine are spaced about every 6" on the top half and hold fine. It would depend on the weight though, if they're thickly insulated then it might be too heavy for that amount.

Cheers @andys , the magnets are ok direct on metal. The issue is the magnets on their own aren't even feeling strong when placed around the window metal frames that have been carpeted. That's before you introduce the blind. Maybe need a BIGGER magnet??

Ah, that could well be the difference, I'm only using them on the front windows where the metal frame is exposed, I have cassette blinds on the rest. Bigger magnets world be the answer then, at least they're cheap as chips

Yes @andys , Bigger magnets, that's the solution. I put three of the small ones together and they provided adequate hold strength... Off to browse ebay again!!
