Pop Top - Straps (Stowage solution)

Just wondering why they are so long? The straps on my Reimo are about a foot long after securing and tuck in with the canvas.

Same. And when I remove the 1st strap to raise the roof I loop it onto the steering wheel to avoid someone driving with the roof not strapped down.

No idea, just how long they are from the supplier. I did think about cutting them down but they done get in when driving and I can loosen them off and leave them installed with the roof up.

If you do want to cut them best to do it at an angle and seal the edge with superglue to prevent fraying.

I have an austops roof and they are really long. The only reason I can think of is to stop the roof blow off in a Gale.

I’ve thought about cutting them too but not done so yet. I’d run a lighter along the edge to stop fraying though.

That was the advice i was given at point of sale. Allow top to go up fully then tension straps to prevent unnecessary damage during higher winds. Once locked down i just roll neatly and tuck into folds.
