Piggl Cushion Alternatives?

Hi - new to these parts - used to have a T25 Westy (until it just got too expensive to keep running) and about to pick up our 2016 T6 at the weekend. I've got a plan for a simple dayvan / weekedn camper fitout which is based around the Piggl bike bed and side pod combo. It's not cheap but all the feedback I've seen on them has been good + it allows for some much needed storage without having to start going full camper fitout. What I won't be able to stretch to is the Piggl cushions / mattress - I'm sure they're lovely but at £1000+ my budget just can't accommodate that right now. I just wondered if anyone else has been in a similar situation and found cheaper alternatives? I'm potentially tempted to see if I could make my own to be honest..

Hello and welcome mate .
We built our own units , foam was purchased online cut to size and had someone local make up the covers .
We got all the covers made with zips in so they can be washed or foam replaced if needed .

Cheers - I've actually spoken to my brother in law this evening who is an upholsterer (but lives in France so not really ideal for doing the job for us). He's said to do the job properly (and he does things nicely) he reckoned about £1000 so at least I know the prices are realistic. I'm getting the internals mostly done by a garage due to time pressures on my part so maybe I need to roll up my sleeves and get stuck in on this bit. Was thinking a couple of cheap ikea foam mattresses and a bit of inspiration, what could go wrong...

Love your cushions btw - very nice.
