Actually, we're worrying more and more about methane these days.
There’ll always be something to worry about/campaign about, some folks love a cause
And particles - the things that are formed by burning stuff, are able to pass internal barriers in our bodies causing myriad health issues.
To be fair it’s mainly ‘big oil’ that focuses on the climate. That steers people more in their favour because people don’t link it with human health - despite heat killing ill people faster and despite droughts and floods costing us trillions globally.
People want to live a healthy life for as long as possible (something that’s going backward now) and some understand healthcare is bloody expensive, hence ‘let’s just keep the focus on the climate folks, nothing to worry about’.
Something has to kill us off. Since we’ve largely controlled the main diseases, we have to rely on man made means of controlling our numbers, be it war or pollution. There’s no problem facing the planet today that a reduction in the human population wouldn’t resolve.
Agree. My neighbour insists on burning 'ovals' for 9 months of the year. Stinks to high heaven and the smog he causes seems to pool by my front door. Hate to think what my lungs are like

Yeah agreed - but no-one wants 'us' to be the ones controlling our numbers/standard of living - war/pollution/climate change/famine etc etc. Its ok if everyone else gets it, but holy shit, not us. (Same as every other human on the planet screaming "Not us! Choose them!" but most of the poor bastards don't get a say in it.)

I think mother nature is being more subtle than that. Human fertility is dropping, nobody knows exactly why, could be pollution/processed foods/climate, who knows. But one thing is certain, nature hates an imbalance and will always seek equilibrium. It’s one of the fundamental laws of the universe.
I remember seeing one van inspected at a camping in the forest site some 10 years back , the couple weren't happy about it at all and when the guy opened the sliding door a bottle of red wine fell out and smashed on the roadway ....they were fuming!

Blimey, their attitude might be different if they read some of the threads on here from the poor souls that bought some right pieces of wonky shite from supposedly professional converters.

So, to round of the thread from me, we had a good time at Hollands Wood, the guy at the gate specifically checked that we had a poptop, but no other checks were made. No complaints, I generally prefer campsites with less than 1/2 an a4 page of rules, but the new forest is convenient for us and I'll happily carry on going, but I'd be hesitant to recommend it to those who have vans without poptops
