Parking A Lwb In Your Garage

Hi,

Do any of you guys park your LWB T6's in your garage, and if so, how much front/rear clearance is there?

I'd like to buy a lwb T6, but I've measured my garage and there'd only be 50mm clearance.

I think I know the answer to this, but am I bonkers even considering fitting it in?

I've even considered putting rubber matting on the inside of the rear garage wall!

I have a double garage so width isn’t the problem but length is, on paper it should fit but it doesn’t, not a chance . I’ve tried several ways, it will go in diagonally but that’s it.

Don't forget to check your garage door. If it's an up and over it cuts the corner off, and might clip the top of the rear spoiler/ roof. Might go in in reverse. Just a thought.

Yeah my Dad mentioned that too, but it's a roller door, so it comes straight down. speaking of garage doors though... it's a double timber door at the back that I'll be reversing towards. From the outside rear off the garage the wooden doors are recessed about 100mm. If I take the frame out and re-set the wooden garage doors flush with the outside rear garage wall, it should give me just enough room inside.

Why stop flush with the outer wall, why not extend another 300mm or whatever, wood frame or clad and felt roof. Or brick, in which case go a bit further. Difficult to suggest without seeing, but totally get wanting the van inside. Wish I could get mine in.

Cheers Stig, I think flush should be fine. Behind the garage is a patio (summer bbq's etc), so don't want to come out any further if possible.

Yeah I'd love to get it inside the garage. I've got a pickup at the moment and have to load all of my tools in the morning, and unload them all each night - not pleasant at 5:50am when it's lashing it down or snowing!

My plan is to get a T6 (always wanted to join the DubClub!), so I can just keep all my tools in the back and locked away out of sight at night. I can't fit all my tools in the back of a pickup, so it's a lottery each day choosing which tools I'll need to load.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Just a thought; would there be any implications of parking in such a small enclosed area if you pulled up part way through an active regen?

When they built my house they must have assumed we'd all be going back to original mini's... My Golf will fit, but you can't actually get out of the car :D
