Panel Van vs Factory Kombi Noise......

Evening all,

So, a random post. I have a CFCA panel van that I have converted to a Kombi, replaced the engine, DPF, Turbo etc etc.

I have a pinking/diesel knock noise that is stressing me out, but thats not the point of this post. I managed to get my hands on another CFCA vehicle tonight, with the idea to use it to help me find the issue I am having and I was blown away with how quiet the engine was when driving it. Like mine is loud, I just presumed that was normal (as I've owned an EV for the past 5-6 years).

Without rambling any more my question is, does anyone know if the factory kombis come with added sound deadening on the front compared to a panel van? Or has anyone else noticed this?

Thanks in advance
Ben

Kombi's have sound deadening pads throughout - not enough to compare to a properly deadened van but that would explain your difference

Bodyshell is the same as the multivan/shuttle/etc has all of the seatbelt mounts already in place, more rigidity due to window cutouts. I think it's been covered on here before.
Interesting, I am surprised window cut outs add rigidity.
