Painting plastic mirror mounts on t6.1

I was told that the plastics for the wing mirror mount on t6.1 are different to some other areas and apparently paint doesn’t hold up very well if you paint them, as they give off a chemical that makes the paint bubble over time. I was going to get them done in gloss black. I know others have done it (eg @BognorMotors seem to). Has anyone had experience of them bubbling after time or is there a method to ensure it’s not a problem?

None - any bodyshop should be able to handle it.

I bought base spec no power folding genuine gloss black T6 caravelle mirror bases, lower caps and wing quarters for about £300. Swapped over the motors and internals and sold the mirrors for about £150. Bit of faff, but no issues and look perfect.

And they fit t6.1?

The mirrors I ordered were off a T6, but as I swapped all my internals fromy T6.1 over they were all fine. It's the T5.1 that have a different mount.
Parts I ordered from LLL 18months ago. Ignore the last one

mine were painted 4.5 years ago and are still like new. like others have said its all in the prep
