Original factory sliding windows.....anyone tried these seals?

Just fitting some “Matthew Navis” sliding window seals, I’ll report back how good they are “on my T5.1”

Heads up, he sells them via eBay £58.94 each side, but I bought them direct online from him, message him saying you have leaky windows, he will send you a 10% discount code, I ended up paying £81.17 for both sides, via PayPal.

So a saving of £36.71 to spend on another fault elsewhere on the van ✌️😎

I refitted my windows yesterday, leaving them open on the 1st notch, so to let the silicone dry off.

I closed them fully last night, they where a tight fit to close”due to the over sized seal”, I reopened them to make sure the seal was still sat in the seal track in the corners, which they where, I then closed them again.

I will leave them closed now for a week, as per Matthew Navis’s instructions, and I will wait for nature to test them, as that’s how they leaked anyway.

I will report back to here with the results.

✌️😎❤️ Craig

Just do have a check for any serious corrosion first buddy….if they’re the original VW sliders, it’s less than 60 seconds to pop them out. Then peel back the original seal at the top & bottom to look 👍
Thanks for that. Yep it is original flat window (like better than OEM😉). Indeed, I had an ongoing issue with dampness, cabinets rotting and some laminate peeling before I actually saw the problem. Then T6 Forum helped locate exact area. Just cleaning the rubbers helped but I've also made a good alternative solution which has worked perfectly.
It's probably not to everyone's liking but I'll post a picture soon as you never know, some might want to do similar. Watch this space 😉

An update. I changed one of my sliding panels (only the sliding part, not entire window) as one had badly rusted under the factory seal. Purchase a pair from eBay that were like new (I’ve got an as-new left hand slider now available if anyone needs one).

Replaced the seal with my Matthew Navis one & left it to settle. I’ve washed the van this morning & blown dried it with my dryer. This dryer forces water into/out of anywhere!! No signs of leakage anywhere!! Sorted. Really chuffed. Able to keep the factory windows now working (sealing!!) as they should’ve done originally.

I’ve no affiliation with this guy but the seals do work. I paid £77 delivered for the pair & they arrived in a few days, sent from Germany. Seems pricey for 2 rubber seals but far cheaper than any window replacement and it keeps it ‘correct’.

As I mentioned above, just pop your sliders out first (less than 60 seconds to do that) and peel the seal away - only glued in 1 spot - and check the frame is ok. If so, these will sort your leaks. Just take your time fitting & making sure they’re seated properly. I used trim tools rather than a screwdriver to do the final push-home in 2 corners but otherwise followed the YouTube video I linked to above.

I’ve got a left hand slider left over (pretty much as-new) if anyone needs one (as I bought as a pair but only needed right hand side). It’s got the original seal still on it, which I assume will leak, eventually if not the immediately, but it doesn’t have any corrosion at all. PM me.

Thank you for the thread. I ordered these seals about a month ago as well. Since last week was quite rainy, I’m happy to see that my window curtains have stayed dry.

Glad my post helped! Mine haven't leaked at all since fitting, so I'm really chuffed too :)
