Hi, after opinions on what model T6 you think is best to buy and then convert into a luxury day van. I am looking at a SWB DSG option, is the 150 BHP powerful enough in your opinion or would I need to look at the 204 BHP model?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi,

It really depends what you’re expecting from your van. I have a 102PS fully converted camper, and it’s not going to win races, but it goes along at 70 no problems, with 4 people, luggage, food, gas and water on board. I don’t find I drive the van like I drive my car, I just chill out and put the cruise on.

I would think a day van would be lighter than mine, so 150BHP would be significantly quicker, and 204BHP would be almost car like.

It’s difficult to answer your question as we don’t know how you want to drive.
We too have a 102PS fully converted camper, and it does the job. I wouldn’t dream of trying to drive it like my “normal” car though.

150 dsg drives like a dream

Oh, and what model? Well, for me it had to be a Highline.

On my 17 plate, you got colour coded bumpers, mirror caps and handles, parking sensors, heated front screen, leather steering wheel and gear lever gaiter, steering wheel control buttons, front fogs (with cornering lights) cruise control, a more comprehensive instrument package, auto wipers and lights, oh, and the all important air con!

for the nuts you want a 204 4motion dsg highline tailgate with led headlights ..if you want to slam it, drop the 4 motion .. if you want space get a lwb btw mine is a 150 dsg lwb and its plenty but that's my thing

Thanks guys, it’s a clear choice between 150 or 204 DSG SWB for me, test drive in each is on the cards me thinks.

That sounds nice, my last highline was a 2012 but of the good bits you only got cruise control and aircon. Heated seats and parking sensors sounds good.
