How long did they take to do the conversion ?
How long was the waiting time from when you made the contract until they started ?

It was February we ordered the van and it was delivered into the UK in April.

The was a rather long delay due to the roof we chose, we wanted an SCA roof but they were not delivering to Autohaus when they said they would. We were about to change to the new Reimo roof when the SCA roof was delivered.

One the roof was delivered it will have taken them just over 2 weeks to do the full conversion. Understandably they were reluctant to start it without the roof. It will be worth the wait though, their quality is amazing and attention to detail second to none. We saw Autohaus at the NEC last year and it was difficult to pick holes in their conversions.

Very excited about picking it up next weekend.

Thanks,
A friend of mine used Autohaus and again was really pleased with the result.
I'm off down to see them tomorrow to see what they can offer, I had Placed an order and put a deposit on Cali Ocean but since VW wouldn't honour that & now want to add 4% when they reopen their order books I shall convert a van.
I'm not playing their games, not good either.

We too thought about an Ocean but once we saw the quality of an Autohaus conversation we quickly changed our minds as we could have exactly what we wanted, no compromises. In the end not a lot of difference in price but we get exactly what we want even down to the colour of the stitching of the leather seats.

They offer a great personal service. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Great I'll be down there tomorrow, and interesting what you say after you having looked at an Ocean .
Did you have one of their standard conversions that they advertise or to your own ?
One of the things thatwe didn't like about the Ocean was no hot water system, which is not a difficult thing to have done .

How did you get on?

We have gone for the Ashton conversion with leather seats, LPG heater with under slung tank to free up a bit of storage and 18 inch alloys on a 150 highline manual.

Nice bloke, and seems to know his stuff plus very nice work with his CNC run machining detail.
Spent quite a bit of time with him going through mixed ideas including hot water system.
I like the idea of his low level units with chest fridge/frezer which gives a huuge double bed down stairs & separate pods,I also love the Sca roof gives lots of space for big guys like me to move around with the extra height.

Love his off road style conversion he is working on, back on the style of the old Westfalia T25's but more modern with the different suspension just up my street.
Just waiting on my order going through on a van then watch this space.

That's a right PITA about the Cali @Caulkhead

I know and I was really keen on it, but because it has gone on so long I have made my mind up to carry on with a van conversion, because of not being able to secure an order date.
You can now guarantee that they will now free up ordering Cali's from today LOL, but hey ho that's life.
I shall still enjoy it no matter what.

Took a look at Autohaus' website and they look very good. You'll enjoy it for sure!

So far I could not recommend Autohaus highly enough, mostly dealt with Chris and he has been superb. Very patient with myself and my wife and our indecision when we visited to tie down the final spec.

Looking forward to seeing the final result on Saturday, I know I won't be disappointed.

Will post pictures as soon as I can.

Sorry been too busy just looking at the beauty of our new van conversion to post any pictures :):) trying to upload the pictures from an iPad but doesn't seem to work so will need to download to the PC

When I download from iPad I chose upload a file, then click on choose a file, followed by photo library.. This is where I select the file, takes a while, then click on thumbnail or full image, followed by post..

Very much enjoying it. Already looking at spending more money on it though. It really needs to be lowered a bit for a start, perhaps only 30mm though as still want to be able to get on and off ferries to France with no trouble. It's also got the dreaded H4 headlights....... wish I had known about them before I ordered the van.
