Hello all, new to the forum. New transporter T6.1 used for work and leisure. Got a few issues though, interested to see if I'm not alone.

Hi @raeelec welcome to the forum, you're definitely no alone, many people on here with work/leisure vans... Unfortunately not me but lots of info here for you!

What issues are you having? have you managed to have a search of the forum for similar issues?

Thanks Jlo, My van, delivered early May 21, TDI450, 4Motion, Transporter with most of the expensive options available has had constant occasions of smelling hot and engine cooling fan running on when stopped/parked (even though it's winter here) service department claims it's the DPF burn off even though there is no warning light on the dash to indicate that it is happening (this started with less than 1500km on the clock!!!).
Useless Auto headlight sensor that constantly wants to turn on the headlights at all hours of the day and if you haven't put the headlight switch in Auto warning message comes and goes all day, service department says it's not adjustable and is normal!!!!
Media/navigation system will intermittently - not boot up, mutes itself, turns off while on - service department says nothing wrong with it.
But the biggest issue is the under body of the van, it has been coated in sea spray during transport to Australia and has signs of corrosion on several parts underneath - still waiting to see what VW Australia is going to do about it.
I previously had a 2019 T6 with no problems at all. Really pleased with the T6.1 on road performance and comfort but pretty disappointed with the problems so far and service department response.

First point... That's definitely a DPF regen happening, if the engine revs are sitting at 1k when you stop it is definitely trying to do one. keep driving for a bit and it should finish.
Headlights: The Auto headlight light levels can definitely be adjusted with 'Carista'.. not sure about other systems.

Can't comment on the others!

Thanks again Jlo, manual says if regen is happening digital cockpit indicator light should be on so you know to keep driving until regen is complete! Makes sense but i've not seen such an indicator light yet.
If the Auto headlight sensor is adjustable have two VW service guys not a clue about how to support their own products?

You would have thought that having an indicator to display when the van was doing a regen would be easy!... There definitely isn't one!

VW wont officially support the adjustments for the headlight, there are third-party devices that can read and write data to the vehicles such as 'Carista', this being a cheaper hobbyist version, ranging up to many hundreds/thousands of pounds for more professional setups.

1st time away in my California Coast T6.1 this weekend but the alarm was a nightmare kept going off. No great in a camp site full of Triathletes.
No button on the B column
Then I read to press the lock button on the driver door but be careful you unlock if you depart for nighttime bathroom visit as it can relock and with your keys inside. So SOS what is the best steps to take to get a night's sleep.
