Looking on the configurator. A lwb T32 Highline 150 PS TSI 6 speed manual is £6000 cheaper than a oil burner?

Are these prices correct ?

Some of the pricing is wrong I think, trendline cheaper than highline ?????

Wrong answer!

I just checked again and they have changed it over night, the petrol now on that model is only £1200 cheaper.

I looked last night and it was more than the oil burner! I tried to configure a petrol T30 kombi Highline and lost the will to live and gave up......it has to be the worst configurator I've ever used.......not that I've used many......just BMW and Mini. What a pain?!

Kev
I go through the exact same thing every 3 years, Vivaro, Transit, Vito but always end up much to my annoyance at VW

Visit your local Toyota dealer and get a van with a 5 year warranty and 5* Euro Ncap rating. You may also get treated like a human being and receive attentive service. You may even get a glovebox with a light in it (yes, really) and a lid too!

It is just VW(UK), they are the most annoying dim whits I have ever dealt with; but perceiver as the vans are awesome:thumbsup:

Just ordered my t6 in diesel getting me thinking now should I have gone petrol ?

I think the mpg with a petrol might be painful if you do many miles!, but if they are short around town miles, then petrol could well work out, as the diesels seem to prefer running at full operating temperatures.

I'm gonna stick with the diesel as much as I'm not buying to sell on I think the residuals will be better on the diesel

As always I think they've had some teething issues. Pricing seemed correct today and petrols are around a grand cheaper- we've just ordered about 10 petrols for the fleet.

Any idea what mpg to expect from a petrol compared with a similar powered diesel (i know torque figures will be lower). The petrols look to be very tune-able;)

No not yet. I'm awaiting an email from one of the dealers with the figures. I will put it up as soon as I have it.

And yes very tuneable if needs be.

Just found it;

The 150/204 petrol T28 are about 23-24mpg urban, 37-38mpg extra urban and 31-32mpg combined.

They are quoting 8.8 secs to 60 for the DSG 204.

Sounds great if you ask me :)

Hmm those figures sound a bit optimistic. I know from people at work that have had the 150 engines in Golfs/Passats have averaged around 46mpg for the diesel and 30mpg for the petrol in mixed driving. Given that I average about 36mpg in my 150 T6 diesel, I would guess that if you take that sort of ratio, the petrols are going to be lucky to see much more than 25mpg combined. Saying that, I'd love to go back to petrol, but I fear that boosting them up to get them in the same ballpark for torque is going to make them uneconomical unless you do low mileages, particularly as I notice that petrol and diesel seem to be getting within a penny a litre of each other now, with the latter actually a penny cheaper at Sainsbury's last night.
I'm going to watch from the sidelines on this.

If the real world figures are even close to that it will be a fab

But they won't be will they.......we all know manufacturers figures are a work of fiction, Diesel, Petrol......whatever! I've got to say, even as a confirmed petrol head who never, ever wanted a diesel......those figures wouldn't make me rule out a Diesel if I was buying again. I just hope Government interference doesn't make us all pariah's seeing as those wankers told everyone to switch to diesel!
