New 6.1 Ordered

I ordered a 6.1 last October with Hillside Leisure, Derby and was told the base van would be expected January / February this year to convert to a camper. I’m now being told it’s in build in Germany in March - anyone got any idea of when I can expect the van and what I can expect a reasonable conversion time ?

Can’t help re: arrival date. However, the conversion time based on our conversion is usually around 3 weeks for a full one. The tricky bit is getting a start date. For the more popular ones you might have to wait 6-12 months for a start date. Have you chosen your converter and got a start date from them,

That’s taking a long time. Ours are taking an average of 8 weeks presently - some up to 10 weeks. 6.1 builds are coming through a lot quicker than the old t6

That's good to hear, I've just ordered a swb, 110ps, highline, tailgate from a dealer near me. Been told 3 to 4 months

Yes mine is delayed. Ordered November 20, told around 16 weeks. Going to be 20/24 weeks by the time it arrives. I am in no rush but still disappointed.

Are you guys getting anything through the post after ordering ? I've got my order confirmation by pdf on email plus all the other paper work, wltp etc etc.

Just wondered what happens next, I'm sure I had an info pack or something like that 11years ago when I bought my t5

Speak to Hillside. When they ordered the van they should have pencilled in a build date. I’ve ordered through Cambridge Campervans, that’s what they have done.
I’ve heard mixed responses ref build time’s, some longer some shorter.

Morning, I ordered my T32 LWB 4 motion van mid October, from VW, and I’m expecting delivery next week( cannot wait) .It’s then off to Cornwall to be converted, which will take 3/4 weeks.Hope that gives you another example of delivery times

Yeah it's on the VW website now. Hopefully just a two week stop but who knows.

I find it annoying my dealer hasnt bothered to contact me and let me know. Oh well suppose they don't care once they have your deposit.

Unfortunately the buyers are keener than the sellers for information. It is what it is, these are crazy times. At least we have a van to look forward to when this is all over. Good luck guys.

Yep, mine was delayed anyway, before all this, so with the financial situation and the uncertainty of delivery I might just tell them to keep it until September. Stay safe everyone.

China might be coming out of this crap they've caused, but that's only after 3 months of a complete and brutal lock down for millions of people and thousands of manufacturers...

The company i work for supply into the Automotive industry, With BMW, VW, Merc and Porsche the main end users... Unfortunately our assembly plant in the phillipines is also shutdown and the car manufacturers will be closed for a minimum 4 weeks likely longer...

Its not just VW Germany thats the problem its there entire supply chain around the world...

Might be worth holding off buying right now... Or prepare for a considerable wait.
