It's with a slightly heavy heart that the new set of banded Amorak wheels I had off @T6180 are up for sale.

Mark came over in his beast yesterday and let me try his wheels on mine and it just didn't work for me. I've been doing the whole hours and hours of image searching for different colours to change these wheels to, but decided not to waste anymore money on something I know just won't work on my van, which is gutting.

The wheels are exactly the same as the ones on @T6180 van in this thread 18" Banded Amaroks - Finally Fitted just without tyres. I will throw in the VW caps, plus they are boxed for easy/safe transportation. They are brand new, banded to 8.5" front and 9" rears. The front has a nice deep rim, but the rears are very deep and look far better in the flesh on tyres as I found out yesterday with Marks.

I paid £800 for these yesterday, and just looking to get my money back. (saying that, it's not the end of the world if they don't sell, because I will just stick a full on set of winter tyres on and use solely for the bad weather months)
A quick search will show just how hard these are to get in standard form at the moment, let alone banded.
These are collection from Leicester, but as many people know, i'm always up and down the UK every day, so might be worth asking if you are no where near me.

These look really nice, who did the banding on them? If you don’t mind me asking.

Duchy banded steels.

GLWS. They are a thing of beauty, and I’m sure you will have no problem selling.

I agree, on the right van they look awesome. Just not on mine, but like I said, if they sell, then ok, but if not, then fine, it's full on winters with some big chunky Grabbers I think.

Happy to do a deal on a fitted set of B14s ;)

I think you may of not given these a fair shot to be honest as I believe you are running the 30mm eibachs, these never look right unless running low on coilovers or even better air. You have the one colour that they look good on fitted to a kombi as all black looks most like a panel van which suit these best.
Just my thoughts.

The van is going on the floor shortly anyway, and if I thought they'd suit it once dropped, I'd never of got rid.
Look through the vans that run these wheels, and most have a simplistic factory look, very low on steels. This works really well in my opinion, because it showcases the steels, but add the chunkiness of splitter, side bars and spoilers to the mix, and this detracts from the steels and they end up getting lost in the bling, hence why most vans that style like mine, go for showy wheels.

I get we all have our own taste, but I just couldn't see my van pulling these off without stripping it back to a more factory looking vehicle.
No one's more gutted about letting these stunning wheels go, but I knew I'd never be happy with the look.

I totally agree about them suiting a more factory look which is why when @T6180 mentioned in the past about adding spoilers I said banded look best without, it’s just I can’t get the image out of my head of a black T5 kombi with spoilers and side bars from 2010 running banded 17’s which looked amazing. I was only trying to help as I’ve been around the Transporter seen a long time and seen many different looks and when it comes to banded it’s all about the stance. I’m sure you’ll find the look your happy with and if not it will soon be time to start all over again on your next one. As I guess your like me and rack the miles up.

You said it there, and you're spot on, it's all about Stance. Since buying my van, i've tried everything to not have to lower it past the 30mm I currently have, simply because it's a vehicle I use for work, and as you know do a lot of miles. I'm sick of dodging pot holes, and have to deal with the state of our roads every day, so I wanted to achieve a look, without dropping her on the floor, but I just cannot get the look I want without doing this, so i've finally given in and booked the van in with Bognor Motors for the B14's next month. I know that I personally won't faff about with B14s, and it will be dropped on it's lowest setting and adjusted until it sits level. I carry constant weight, and as you can see on most of my pictures with my standard 30mm, it sits lower than most on these springs, so hopefully the weight will also push the new set-up even lower. I'm certain that once this is done, it will instantly make me fall in love with the current 19s and also open up a whole new array of wheels that will suit this dropped look, so I can start over again.

It was an absolute revelation when I picked mine up after Olly and his guys had done their business and they are the best people that I have had dealings with in my kayaking van project  narrowly beating a superb upholsterer into 2nd place.

I am looking forward to seeing yours Tourer:thumbsup:

I think you should keep the grille until you get the b14s though mate ;)

Oli even offered me the use of the 300bhp petrol T6 to use for the day, but doubt I will take him up on that offer. There's no way i'm driving that thing, then getting back into my 204 for the drive home

The grill has to stay on for now, because I have no time to swap it back over:mad:
