Hi guys, new to the forum.
got this last month and I can’t believe I have my first problem, I’ve had 6 golfs no problems and this is my first hiccup.
coil warning light came on(heating plugs I think) and goes into limp mode any time you put your foot down, worse still though, it cuts out completely andpower steering locks up. I’m gutted.

I have read similar problems so was wondering if anyone had any idea if it is heated plugs causing confusion in the computer or if that warning could be used for something else? Thanks guys

Just to add this is a 59 plate with only 4 k on the clock!

Ah ok, cheers. I’ll get it to Vw.

This sounds a daft question but obviously manufacturers warranty covers all this, right? Because if they charge me for a diognostic after spending 36k on a van I’m going to tell them where to go.

I’ve had plenty of vws and no problems so never had anything to do with exercising a manufacturers warranty.

Phone VW assistance and say you don’t want to drive it/Undriveable and request a VW engineer. They will come to your house.

Also, get yourself a carista OBD2 reader so you can look at what fault codes come up, and then google them. Its not as good as a proper machine, but it's a great start. Good luck.
