Hey all,

So popped out to put my torch in the van, unlocked it, put the keys back on the hook in the house, put the offending article in the van.... then the van locked on me o_O:cautious:

Deadlocked into my own van, no mobile or keys to get out.

Is there a way I can stop this from happening, it seems unless you leave the door open or start the van it will deadlock the doors after a certain period of time.

PS: I would be a crap car thief.

You sure the wife didn’t lock it again for 19 mins peace lol
I always thought only locked it’s self if no doors were opened after 30 secs or so!

Sounds like you have a dodgy lock module and the van doesn't know that a door has been opened, so auto relocks.

Weird, I thought it only re locked if you didn't open a door. Faulty door lock maybe? Or perhaps somebody just wanted you out of the way for a while

I disabled the 30second auto-lock in vcds.
However the issue must be that the van didn't see the door open otherwise it would have cancelled the auto-lock

Thanks for the replies gents, what i didn't add is that that i did close the drivers door after me. Then it locked.

@Loz can I disable to 30 second lock in OBD11 and if so where is the coding located please?

I did think this may be the case, SWMBO just thought I messing with my van as the alarm kept going off hence she ignored it

In the end by pure luck my parents visited and let me me out after they heard me banging on the back window to get their attention.:oops:

LOl the back window is also blacked out, that didn't help much either.

Sounds hilarious but clearly not at the time!

All i could think of is how would i get out if i wasn't at home, didn't even have my mobile with me.

Even the horn didn't work.

what they said . . .

if the van auto re-locked. . .

then it didnt see the door open in the first place.

see if the dash indicates the doors open/closed on at a time.

ill assume the door you used doesnt show open/closed.?~

I only get the door open when the van is running.

If i open the door when it is not running all i get is the digital MPH reading on the dash.

I remotely opened the van, put my keys back in the house, got in the van, shut the door, faffed with something in the van when it relocked me in the van.

Need to turn this feature off as its already cost me a £100 to get into the van when the keys were locked into it earlier this year.

Not sure if I have auto lock on my 2016 T28. I'm off to garage to play - back soon.....

so can you confirm that the van is seeing all the door and boot, bonnet etc open / close?

you got VCDS? - to test door open signals?

Well, no auto lock on my camper. When I drive off the doors will lock and when I take the key out the doors open (at least that works), but cannot find/get auto lock to work. Need to look more into this, perhaps my van does not have it.
