Hi can some one send me a link to a good sound proofing thread, with pics also?

I want to sound proof the back of my kombie and want to see how much i actually need to cover with dinomat or silent coat etc?

Thanks

Thanks Cal , have you got any pictures of the floor and roof?

Left the floor as i have the kombi rubber Matt in place... and the roof, I applied silent coat in the channels , because there’s factory silent coat already on the roof, so there’s strips the whole way along the roof. Then applied the 7mm dodo matting over the top of everything

Also did you do the arches from the outside? if so why not inside or did you do both?

I did the outside of wheel arches... might layer up more if I buy another pack for the front of the cab.

Simply for a neater finish when carpeting

Ok , so today i took all the rear panels off and stuck silent coat using a roller, also did the wheel arches from the inside.
Used a 40 packed but didn't have enough to do the tail gate.
Then i filled the voids with the recycled plastic insulation, im not blow away with the improvement of noise to be honest, i did like the clunk as the side door shuts!
So that leaves the roof and floor , still undecided on this so more opinions would be appreciated.
From reading above the roof has already a reasonable amount of dampening and the mat should be sufficient.
Unless its a game changer i not really fussed as its not a camper conversion and as a family theres to many of us to ever sleep in it.

Fish you are a brave man , when i saw your dash stripped out i nearly shed a tear....

i felt the same as you after doing it... But i have a feeling it might actually be the road noise coming from the front of the cab now... must remember though, its a very large open space of air in the back, so sound is going to resonate

Its a small wooden roller i had in an old tool kit , very handy as you can apply a good amount of pressure.
Tool station do them , its called a seam roller about £5
