Led Interior Lighting Single Wire Check

Hi Gents,
Installing my leisure battery tomorrow, after having a skyline pop top fitted with switched LED lights fitted notice that I only have a single red wire for the light circuit.
Can i presume this is the positive wire and the negative earthed through the van?
How can i check this and what fuse would you fit for 4x LED lights and a LED map light in the pop roof?

Thanks for your help

LED lights draw very minimal power
If you look at the factory interior lighting circuit this feeds all interior lights (that’s a minimum of 6 lamps) and is fused at 7.5amp, your lighting circuit will draw less than this so doesn’t need to be very large
The key to fusing is to have the size of the fuse rated at less than the max current the wire can handle on the circuit it’s protecting, assuming your red wire is no smaller than 0.5mm (I would guess it’s likely to be a bit larger than that) I would just run it through a 5 amp fuse

If you just want to quickly confirm it works without faffing with the van electrics for now, take a PP3 duracell, hold your red wire to pos and dab the battery neg to ground somewhere. PP3 pos is the dome shape, neg is the crown shape.
