Lazer light fitting

So I've just bought a set of lazer lamps for my T6

It's the triple R 750 gen 2 LED driving lamps with the option to have them run off the main beam and full beam.

Anyone fitted these themselves?

I'm happy to cut the grill etc but a bit more apprehensive about the wiring, splicing cables etc.

Or if someone could recommend someone in around Essex, that would also be great 20241224_121735.webp20250106_164447.webp

Did mine today. It was straightforward. The only fiddly PiTA but ws removing the battery to feed the cable for the switch into the cabin.

I wired mine to the high beam via a relay triggered from the NS headlamp wiring.

A reciprocating saw with a hacksaw blade and set to its slowest speed was fine the the grille. Cutting it by hand was taking an age.

Cheers.

Don't plan to have the switch.

Just want the position light to run on start up and then on full with the high beam.

Did you know which wire or did you use a multimeter to locate?

I used a multimeter. I didn't have my glasses on because it was -1°C and they were steaming up but I think it was white or a very light grey at the connector on the rear of the headlamp. It was an absolute mofo to unplug the connector but managed it in the end.

Edit - bear in mind nines a 6.1 so the wiring may not be the same.

If they are standard lights do you not need the canny device?
Sorry what is a relay trigger?
Mine are H7's so didnt need the canbus doobrey.

As im sure you know, the lights are powered directly from the battery and switched on/off by a relay. The relay requires a 12 volt feed to trigger it. I found the 12v feed to the high beam in the multiplug for the NS headlamp.

Hi there. I’m getting a set of these for our T5.1. ( I know I’m in the wrong forum!!) Did you wire up the Triple R/s as position lights and main beam. Your photos show two different patterns to the light throw. On our transporter we have H4 lights and even with led running lights it’s bloody dangerous at night. I wondered if you noticed a difference if you did wire up them to position. Seems a shame to waste the light just on main beam. Also did you wire without Canbus dongle?

Be grateful for reply.

I didn't actually end up wiring them up myself.

They are wired in so they run with DRLs/dipped headlights (top picture in my previous reply)

You couldn't have them on fully whilst driving as they will blind oncoming traffic

They then come on fully, when high beam is switched on (2nd picture in my last reply)
