Only one load rating on the ytre wall which usually indicates car tyre.
Van tyres should give 2 load ratings on the tyre , for single and twin axle configuration

You dont actually mention which ecstas these are , they do an PS71 SUV specifically designed for heavy SUV's not just cars

They are PS91

If it really is a 7j rim and not a mould mark of some sort ,,,,,, then good grief

Cant really believe anywhere would fit a 275 to that sized rim.

However, a so called mechanic I know , once wedged the gearbox up on his astra with a block of wood instead of replacing the mounting

I spotted that but thought they can’t surely be 7 inches wide and the tyre remain fairly flat like?

Max width tyre (with an aspect ratio of 35) that you can fit on a 7j wheel is a 195 I believe.

Quite damning from an outside perspective looking at this.

I've heard that the type of speed bumps show below can cause this type of wear. No idea if it's proven to be true but sorta makes sense when it's the inside only that cracks.

Seems like you need a 9.5j wheel to be able to use 275/35 tyres. Or tyres that are 255/35 for a 9j wheel (with the correct load rating and reinforcement).

Do your tyres say XL on them next to the size?

When i used to run 19" staggered on my 5 series, the rears where 9.5j for a 275 .
8.5j for a 245 on the front.

I ditched the 19,s , and put it back on 18,s .
It tram lined so much on the 19,s , a harsher ride too.

Plus, years ago , the dunlop spormaxs or Michelin id fitted where about 80 pound a corner more expensive for the 19,s

Kumhos are a quality mid/upper range tyre.
In fact the 5 series my son now drives , I put him 4 x kumho solos all seasons on it for him.

As I said in post #28.
I ran these on 19” Range Rover alloys.
I got 15k miles out of them unlike the 10k I get on my Bridgestones that came on the van.

I've seen that pattern of wear before on under inflated tyres. 38 PSI is lower than I'd run one of these regardless of tyre size.

I suspect its a combo of modern road conditions resembling the surfacemofmthe moon, relatively low operating pressures, and less than ideal tyre selection rather than any one single thing.

If theyre sufficiently weight rated (which supposedly they are) then it shouldn't make any difference surely whether its a van, mpv or suv surely .
