So.. search for a van continues...

Are there any disadvantages of buying a LWB T32 KOMBI for conversion into a camper?

Cheers

Depends what you want to do?
The difference with a T32 than the others is the uprated springs, suspension and brakes

A full conversion. Just wondering if the Kombi were more difficult to insure, higher to tax etc.

Cheers

Kombi tax is same as a panel van and insurance will be same once converted. Our Kombi was cheaper to insure than the 4yr old XC60 it replaced before conversion, not sure how it would compare to a panel van though.

Just re read it and it is confusing. Our Kombi (registered Aug 2017) is classed as a light goods vehicle for road tax so is currently £250, caravelle and California models are classed differently so fall into the co2 bracketing and retail price for tax afaik and i’m unaware of any change to that for new vehicles.

It is changing but I did read somewhere else that its just the first year potentially you might pay more if registered from/after Sep 18. But not very clear at moment.
