Hi, looking for a bit of inspiration! I have fitted a double swivel base and relocated all of the wiring that comes under the double seat. The problem I now face is how to connect the heated seats as there is no way to pass the cable through the swivel. I have been trying to find a neat 3 pole panel mount connector and angled plug to fit between the seat base and the door pillar. Room is very limited and finding a suitably rated connector that looks the part seems impossible. Can anyone give me some inspiration!!!! Have been unable to find any posts or anything on google where someone has encountered this problem. Thanks in advance guys - gals

No luck with this?

I did have some success, I relocated the supply cable (for the heated seats) to come out next to the side of the handbrake, then I used a 3 pin plug (small type from maplins) to plug into the side of the seat base (connected to the relocated Heated seat cables). Can upload some photos if you need them. It’s not to different to the link above, but a bit neater I think!

Ah cool if you don’t mind that will be great!

I'm about to run into a similar issue soon, need to fit a swivel to my factory twin passenger seat with heated seats... I've got endless connector options available to me (through my job) anyone done it on a T6.1?

does any one have a link for the fittings used have a t6.1 and my convertor has done it but I want it to look neater

I’ve used oem connectors to extend the original wiring. I can look up these part numbers. And then XLR connected for the plugs on the seat base.

It does have a swivel, theyve extended the cable and put the clip in, just looks untidy!!
It doesn’t look as bad as you think. Others wouldn’t notice.

My bigger concern would be the durability of the plug. These aren’t designed for this.

If you have more slack under the seat or in the handbrake, wire in something you like better.

My job isn’t finished yet, but I’m using XLR plugs which are usually used for microphones. Super tough plugs. Would it help if I shared some photos?

These are the four plugs I bought.

The two harnesses to extend the existing seat warmer wiring without cutting the existing wires. (Easy to walk back this mod later if necessary.)

The two XLR plugs. The male end to mount in the double seat base, and the female end to plug in.

These XLR plugs are really tough, they click in securely, and I bought a 90 degree plug so that it could neatly drop the wires down to the floor to run under the handbrake.

The downside… they require soldering. And I’m sh*t at soldering.

That would be great if you could….is it easy to do? I agree about the durability that’s the main reason I want something more robust.

Easy to do?

Took me ages to come up with a plan. Fitting it will be easier.

I current just have a long extension for the heated seats running from under the swivel, up and out from underneath the drivers seat, and into the back of the passenger double through a gap between the seat and base.

I now need to cut a circular hole in the double seat base for my male surface-mounted plug. Then I need to solder the wires to both female and male ends.

And that’s it!

Do you have pictures of your set up? I'm about to do the same job. Thanks.

Hey mate. I’ll be honest. I haven’t done it yet. Because the heated seats are working, and I’ve had other jobs to get done, I haven’t finished it off.

Also, I’m shit at soldering and the connectors require it. So, kinda not looking forward to that.

I need to find some time for it really.
