Key fob and central locking not working

Hi everyone
Not sure if this is a common issue, but both of my key fobs have stopped working. I’ve changed the batteries ( didn’t realise there was an indicator on the dash about this... so I’m assuming they didn’t really need doing)
But it now means only the drivers door will unlock , as using the key on the drivers door only unlocks the drivers door.
The side doors are not opening on the dash switch ( I have a caravelle exec) and
I don’t want to try opening them in case I damage something
Also , maybe coincidentally..., when the key is in the ignition, it is stuck , until you click it back ( anti clockwise) to release it... and sometimes when you put the key in to the ignition, it just spins around?
odd as it was fine one day, then this!!
many ideas?
the main battery was changed when I bought it in feb, but it has been fine up till now and I use it regularly

When that ignition barrel spins it means it’s about to fail or the key is worn try your spare, Common fault the barres going

Cheers, that’s interesting
I need to check the history , but I though it had been done within the last three years?

How old is your van ?

Pete
Hi Pete
It’s a 2011 t5.1

though I think I’ve resolved it!!
As the key was sticking in the ignition barrel, I thought the van might still be acting as though it had the key in there.
Quick spray of WD40, and hey presto.. no sticking key and the key fob is working again!

I had something very similar on a different vehicle, carry a small hammer with you. The wafers are sticking and the barrel needs removing cleaning and rebuilding
