Hello Friends :)

If your campervan is older than 10 years, then so is the key fob. I want to share with you what happened to me this week while I was alone in a remote location. I am a single female aged 68 and was parked up on the marsh. I was making a video about why I purchased a Vivante campervan and what led me to do it age 65+, and then this happened...... so please watch this video to know what could happen. I especially want to share it for people who go abroad or are far away from home or who are in a remote area. You can skip the first part of the video if you like, which is just blurb about my decision to buy the campervan, but watch the second half because it could happen to anyone with a campervan, a car or a motorhome.....

Watch and share especially if you know someone like me who travels alone.

Unexpected drama happens alot but this can be avoided.

FF to 15.00 min’s, obviously fatigue caused the failure but that’s down to the number of operations and how hard it’s turned not the age of the key.
Many motor insurance policies cover lost keys.
I always carry a spare key.

I'm with N.F.U. a comprehensive breakdown cover ..... but it didn't cover this.

I’m also with NFU but their breakdown cover does not cover motorhomes / motorcaravans, never has as far as I’m aware.
I’ve also managed to get locked out of the van with the engine running by using a certain combination of door locks and exit point, that’s my main reason for carrying a spare key. Fortunately Transporters are way too easy to break in to so I managed to get home that night without a spare key.
