Is this oil ok

I’ve got some of this stuff, can’t find out if it’s up to vw spec. Is it ok to use?

It's a C3, so on the one hand yes.

On the other, it doesnt have formal VW 504/507 approval. That does not automatically mean anything negative or that it is on any way unsuitable, but...

I'd be happy to top up with it. It probably is perfectly good for oil full changes but with correctly VW approved oils being widely available and not especially expensive I can see no reason to take the risk.

99% odds you'd be good. Just depends how much of a gambling man you are.
