Is this good service history for 67,500 T6 204PS

Hi there

New to this forum, great to be here.

I have read some horror stories regarding the CXEB engine and wondering if the service history on this Transporter Sportline is good or worth avoiding.

17/03/2018 - 9348 Miles - VW Specialist - Oil Change Service
01/11/2018 - 19776 Miles - VW Specialist - Inspection with Oil Change, Fuel Filter

12/03/2021 - 39743 Miles - VW Specialist - Inspection with Oil Change, Fuel Filter, Air Filter, Pollen Filter
01/07/2021 - 41985 Miles - VW Specialist - Toothed Belt Kit
25/02/2022 - 49423 Miles -
- Inspection with Oil Change, Dust and Pollen Filter
24/09/2022 - 55017 Miles - VW Specialist - Inspection with Oil Change, Fuel Filter, Air Filter, Dust and Pollen Filter
23/03/2023 - 57810 Miles - VW Specialist - Inspection with Oil Change

22/09/2025 - 67450 Miles - Inspection with Oil Change, Air Filter, Pollen Filter

The VW is being sold by a company with very good reviews and supplied with 6 months warranty, I do understand things can still go wrong with good service history but would like to give myself the best possible chance.

All the best

Luke

It’s decent but there’s gaps that would concern me. The no service in 2019, but could have just been on fluid not fixed servicing.
But the biggest is the lack of DSG service until 65k. Should be done at 40k as an absolute, not a recommended.

How many owners has it had? There’s some odd intervals between services…

I thought that regarding DSG, I've had a few and always had them serviced at 40,000.

Its had two previous owners.

Thanks for your response.

Yeah, so I’d gamble the 1st owner traded it in before the DSG was due and the garage never picked up on it. Then the selling garage probably did the cambelt to aid resale.

Then it looks like it’s sat around, so 2nd owner come to sell and been told about the DSG, so it got it done. But then given the lack of mileage it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s been passed round a few dealers this year.

How much?

Price seems fair enough for a genuine Sportline.
And as aforementioned, it’s decent history but just odd with some of the intervals in my opinion…

Read the massive thread on here regards engine failures. More to do with the crap EGR and the turbos eating it basically.

Timing belt kit at 40k? - wonder why that was?

No, as in bad service history?

Thanks

Luke
No, I just had a flashback to a 3 mile long timing belt service interval Forum discussion.

Looks OK to me other than the DSG service interval.
I’d recommend a Miller oil analysis test for £40 but the oil has just been renewed so there wouldn’t be any conclusive results.
Check the DPF condition, soot, ash and re-gen interval, an oil burning engine will quickly destroy the DPF followed by the turbochargers.
I’d recommend oil services at 8-9K miles, I have a healthy 180PS bi-turbo minus the soot loading EGR, oil analysis shows the soot level to be at Caution level with about 9K miles on the oil. IMO 10-12K mile oil service interval is too long for the bi-turbos.

You have a month after purchase to return it for refund as far as I’m aware.
Read the warranty small print, especially regarding excessive oil consumption, oil leaks and carbon related issues.
Get an email to the seller regarding oil acceptable oil consumption figures.
If you do buy it get as many miles on it as possible within this period and monitor the oil consumption.

Thanks for you advice, I was thinking of doing this.

I was planning on putting around 1,000 miles on it in the first 3 weeks and see how it is and how much oil it drinks, and act upon that.

Thanks!

But, it was done as part of the sale - to which was included in the forecourt price, luckily not extra cost!
Christ. Not many out there so generous. You should have him put in a zoo so others can marvel at this strange, rare beast.
