Looking to buy the below kombi (or simlar) and have it part converted (most not DIY), do you think this is even possible for under £50k (including VAT)?

LWB highline Kombi DSG 4 motion TDi 204 T32 (any colour other than black). Less than 12 months old with under 10k miles.
Comfort dash, twin sliding doors, LED lights front and back, ACC, power latch locks, rear camera, towbar.

MOD's;
HiLo roof (with bed), lowered with 19/20" wheels, insulated and lined (including floor), electrics (including hook-up, USB, 240v, lights, etc), diesel heater, leather swivel captins seats, side bars, front and rear spoilers, reimo seat/bed, window blinds.

DIY;
flat pack kitchen/units/wardrobe, sink, fridge, hob.

Achievable or a pipe dream?

Cheers,
TR.

p.s if anyone has one built as above for sale let me know as I'm buggered if I can find one.

I think it all depends on what base vehicle you can find, LWB are not so common and command a good second hand price, personally I think you will be hard pushed to source a vehicle and get all that done for the money

The bits you want down all have a fixed(ish) cost
If you break down the costs of the mods/extras you are after add them all up and take that total away from 50k and see what you are left with that will give you a good idea of what you can afford/how far you can go with a base vehicle
Also consider sourcing a base vehicle through a conversion company who would do the work for you, these companies often have trade supply routes for base vehicles and if they are supplying and fitting out may work out better than buying elsewhere and taking it to someone for the work as the profit is kept in house rather than sharing between two companies ??

That base van is very specific, and I imagine fairly rare which will add to the cost! As with any conversion, at least ones that I have done, the hardest part is finding a decent base van. When you find one that fits the bill, snap it up!

I had simple demands for my van, LWB, DSG, Highline and not white, i think i had about 7 to chose from on the VW site!

the twin sliders is very specific too..

why the 19/20" wheels and lowered? if really needed you could do that after?

a few of the base spec you mention can be done diy.. maybe make it easier to find?

Here in siwtzerland that would not be possible to find though at your price..

Thanks for the replies guys. Have found a few base vans just what I want apart from having a sunroof fitted which is either no good for a pop top conversion or adds extra expense.

It adds a bit of inconvenience agreed, but a reputable conversion company will be able to remove the sunroof and weld in a partial panel to cover the space not hidden by the poptop. Have a word with Custom campers near Halifax. The guy is very skilled and has removed several sunroofs in replace of a poptop. He fits Austops, not HiLo roofs though.

Have a sit in a van with a reimo bed and a HiLo roof and see if you foul the roof with your head, before you spend the cash.

Quick update, going to view a T6 tomorrow (wish me luck). Not excatly what I wanted, no 4 motion but everything else is pretty close as I could find. Bonus is it already has a HiL0 roof, factory diesel heater fitted and is my perfect colour choice :). After seeing some of the vans for sale at busfest last weekend and what they wanted I could see I'd never get what I wanted for our budget :(
