Is my diesel heater vent in the right position to allow for kitchen installation?

I’m in the process of sourcing a kitchen for my T6.1 LWB. I have my leisure battery and wiring under the drivers seat, so the heater vent comes out of the floor. Judging by the photo is this vent going to need moving to get cabinets in? Is there a specified distance that is should be positioned behind the B post. The bulkhead metalwork is coming out too. I suppose the answer to that question is; it depends on the furniture.
It looks a similar distance back to mine and it proved a nightmare to get any units to fit. Even then I had to cut a notch in them to make them fit.
people will be able to give a better idea if you measure exactly where it is.
I don’t know who fitted it there but I think mine was due to a lazy effort and just fitted it in an easy place to put it.

Thanks for the reply. I had the heater fitted a few months ago but wish I’d asked for it further towards the seat. Here’s a little drawing of the measurements. I should have thought to put them on in the first place. Not sure how difficult or expensive it would be to move it.

That’s where min is - I’ll find a pic after “Traitors “!

IMG_1309.webpThis (under construction)shot is the best I’ve got but you can see that the units finish before the corner of the window and it leaves about 250mm of space on the floor between the unit and the seat base which is where the inlet is.
From right to left I’ve got top Dometic top loading fridge sink/hob unit then 3 drawers and ports potti sized drop down cupboard which mostly is for the duvet/fitted sheet for the bed/seat unit which was yet to go in at the time of the picture.
Being LWB makes all the difference. There is now a further cupboard aft of the fridge.
So, essentially, there is loads of room!

Thinking about it! I made the units such that the driver seat could be set to max rearward position and just touches the worktop. The seat back angle then defined the floor space.

That’s great thanks! Looks like I don’t need to worry about moving it. Thanks for the help.

Hi, are you building your own units or getting them from somewhere else? It would be better to measure from the back of the seat base or one of the seat base studs. Most people don’t have the bulkhead bit to measure from.

I’m hoping to get a kitchen from Evolution Vans. I will do measurements from the seat base. The 12cm measurement is from the back of the B post. I did want a bit of a gap so I can store a table behind my drivers seat.

Mine is evo and the table fits there quite well. But I don't have a heater vent.

Yeah is there anything particular you want to see?

That’s what I wanted to see thanks. It shows where the end of the worktop lines up with the window. How much room is there behind the fridge when it’s in the unit? Just thought it may be an option to reroute the vent through the back of the unit behind the fridge.

Never really checked but I can pull the drawer put and check. I'll get some pics.

Hoping i can move the fridge back a bit. Had to notch the bottom panel/brace to allow the feet of the fridge to slide back, sure it will go further.
