How to know what's a good price when buying your first VW Campervan?

Objectification of women hmmmm. Well I was on a forum may have been this or any of many others I really do not recall, where where someone a guy suggest the same thing with his vehicle. He was evidently so enamoured with his bit of stuff an inanimate thing, his own vehicle that he wanted to F--- it! It was expressed just out of the blue, much too everyone’s amassment and hilarity. With incredulous suggestions from some wondering how it could be achieved. The mind boggles

It's quite easy really, you just need to make sure the exhaust has cooled to just the right temperature.....allegedly

A chap in Australia actually married his Kawasaki.

It is not known by what means the marriage was consummated.

There are certain converters that operate like puppy farms churning out base level ex builders van conversions. Comes with dubious pop tops, defective electrics and no insulation but have the all important 20” wheels and two tone paint jobs to catch the eye.
They tend to get regular mentions on this Forum.
Not saying your van is one of them but be aware.
We struggled with that. (2016) We didn't really know what we were buying into. We still joke they 52k is a lot of cash for a builders van which ever way you look at it. A lot of the converters wouldn't let us supply a brand new transporter spec to our choice but wanted to source an ex demo van themselves.

Forward wind to 2025 and we were looking at IVECO Elddis Auto quest 75k OTR but the cab area is rubbish plastic, beyond basic, rubber floors, it's 1970 transit world.

Not even an integrated microphone for the after market pioneer media centre with it clipped on the mirror with the wire hanging.

We spend 5 hours a day in the front of our Cali when touring - I think we often forget how good VW cab driving experience/ ambiance is and the converters always seem to be looking behind the front seats.

I drive a similar spec van. Bought as 18 plate trendline panel van in 2022. It has been converted bit by bit over 3 years.

I only got the pop top fitted last week. The first thing I did was have it tuned to 170 bhp and despite the horror stories,1000012361.webp its never missed a beat.

The best way to tell whether you have got a good deal (or not) in my opinion, is to look around at all the deals available, and if you paid less than the rest, the "Ta Da" you have made a good deal! :mexican wave:

I like your wheel carrier, far better than having under the Boot area.

Pardon our interruption...

Any opinions on this please? Good, bad or indifferent. Has a 130cm bed which would be ok for wife, dog and I 😁.

Not an auto, but that's not a deal breaker.

Thanks
Only things for me, other than the utterly pointless drivers swivel with that kitchen…
It’s a BiTDi, so a lottery for if it goes bang (change the EGR system on it ASAP if you do buy it).
And it’s been lowered on springs only, so if they’ve scrimped on that, what else have they scrimped on?
Other than that it looks a decent van and is very pretty.

This is your fault becuase you got me liking the purple colour the other day!!:)

Do you know if there is any way to tell if damage has already been done? Assume it is possible to buy EGRs that have been rectified and no longer cause destruction of the engine.

Looks like at the very least they have scrimped on tyres - never heard of Royal Black?? No diesel heater either which surprises me.
