How to get Apple CarPlay?

Hiya, we’ve looking to get Apple CarPlay set up in our van. We were told that a VW dealership could do this for about three hundred quid. Aside from getting a new head unit, does anyone know of a cheaper way of doing it? Thanks in advance!

Contact one of the retrofit companies like @Dav-Tec and they can provide activation software that you load on with an SD card yourself for a much more reasonable price

My kids bought their mum a dooda (technical term) which gave her apple car play in her 69 plate Audi S3 which has an amazing bang Olsen sound system but no apple car play
I don’t think it was expensive but will get information on it if your interested
