Hi all,

Just joined the forums as I'm now currently in the market for a van (I did look at Transit Customs too, boo-hiss, sorry but the wet belt put me off) for the wife, 2 kids and I to adventure in post selling my 2 seater :). Based in Shropshire so shall drop my requirements and hopefully some may see it, while I look through eBay and AutoTrader.

T6 Crew
Highline or Sportline
FSH (I presume this would include annual oil/filter)
DSG
Captain Seats up front
Pop-top (will likely reverse this as the wife and I preferred the height at the back)
Open on Colour
Budget is £26k for the one that ticks as many boxes as possible, as I'll then carry out the rest over the next 12/18 months.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum. Your list looks in order and your budget is good - I'd add that you need to avoid BiTurbos at any cost.

There will be options on here quite often. Try not to rush this hehe

Thanks, @Badjamin - that's the same advice I am getting off of my wife, but it's so difficult :D.

I did take a look at that one Tdog is selling, but have it in my head that an Auto is the way to go - given most use will be on weekends and holidays so traffic likely!

I'll drop him a message, thanks again for that link too! Could mean a good chunk of change left over to customise it to one's liking.

Also been looking at the below vans, potentially as starting points to then change over next 18 months. Would appreciate your thoughts šŸ‘.

View is to book one out for a weekend - ideally with a tent bolt on to get real feel for the family and how we envisage using it, then either go part/full conversion route, or tick a few boxes and then build on in the coming months.

Seems decent, although lacking info so shall call.

T6.1 so a little more refinement, but a Manual so not my preferred. Nice though.

Hi all,

Found a potential - albeit a little further away, but could mean a family road trip! Would appreciate your keen-eyed thoughts if possible, as it ticks a bunch of my boxes and looks like a nice van to me.

I've an outstanding query ref service history, but the reviews of the garage sound great so expect a reply soon, otherwise I'll phone when I am able. When I find the "one" I'll also be sending the AA or similar to give it a once over too.

Any thoughts appreciated :mexican wave:

Not sure on Auto folding mirrors, which would be a nice addition as I do like an auto folding mirror 😁
As a 2021 highline, it almost certainly has folding mirrors... though always best to ask if that's important to you.

Thanks, Bav.
Certainly not a necessity, but a nice to have as I read you'd be looking at over £1k for aftermarket, which is crazy.

It should have had the DSG serviced by now (5yrs/40k). Something to check in the history/receipts.

Dealer confirmed service at 23k, 36k and 51k miles, all at Volkswagon so would VW schedule dictate the DSG service? I shall still check though, ty.
