Hi all, I am thinking about getting a camper van. I had one before (T5) but it was of shoddy build and I sold it during lock down. I want to go vanning again but this time a bit more comfortably, reliably and dependably......

My ideal van would be a SWB with a tailgate and a rear kitchen; with twin beds rather than a double. Would it be OK to ask on this forum about vans that I might be interested in? There are so many options and variations to consider that I feel a little lost.....

Hi and welcome to the forum! I would suggest that you look at as many vans as you can - go to shows (and perhaps some dealers!) for inspiration.

Do you actually want a kitchen on board or would a removable kitchen pod work for you? Many users end up cooking on a BBQ!

Welcome and ask away!
Check out the for sale section on here also, some lovely vans for sale👍

I'm not that fussed, and if I were to go away on my own I would hardly use it. But SWMBO cooks some lovely grub and gets a lot of pleasure out of cooking good food while in the van.

I'm not sure what a Kitchen pod means.... I will need to look that up.

There's a dozen or so conertors that do that layout, Google search for "rear kitchen layout".

This post is a bit old, and some are no longer in business, but it will get you started.

For instance, mine own...

You will have to consider storage though, there isn't the large volume behind / under the RnR bed for bedding, awning, chairs etc.

But we wouldn't swap our layout.
