Just wanted to say hi, I'm new here and as yet I don't have a T6! We're in the process of working out what we want, I think we're nearly there. We want a day van (not a camper) for carting windsurfing and paddle boarding stuff to and from the beach and for taking 2 E-bikes to places to go exploring. We've looked at all sorts of vans (not just Transporters) but have narrowed our choice down to a T6 LWB Kombi (extra seat would come in handy at times) with a DSG gearbox. We've found a 5 year old Highline for sale with 70k on the clock that we quite like. Not sure I want the 20" Cell alloys, might need to swap them out, it has Bilstien Komfort coilovers which I believe to be a worthwhile addition? It has the 204bhp engine, tailgate. It looks quite nice from the quick look over I've had (need to give it a thorough check and see the service history). Any particular issues I need to be aware of?

Greetings and welcome.

You might want to do a forum search on the BiTurbo 204 motor before getting your wallet out...

I wouldn’t discount the bi turbo variant loads of horror stories but no one tells the story of trouble free motoring. I’ve had the 140,150 and now the bi turbo variant maintained to a high standard no real issues with any of them.
Good luck with your search

Welcome along. As above, just do some research and make your own decision based on what engine to go for. I've had the 102 and the 150bhp variants and both were solid. Not experienced the 204 but not read the best things on here about it

Welcome. I have no idea on relative costs but if the Kombi commands a premium over a Highline panel van it may be worth thinking about the panel van and putting in a railed floor and seats for the versatility and fixings for bikes etc. However, the seats are likely to be expensive if you are not needing a bed in it.
