Hey, Suckers

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I have a JK thermal blind set on my Caravelle, which, for the most part, does a pretty good job. My issue is that the tailgate blind refuses to stay stuck down for more than 15 minutes or so. I've tried cleaning the window, cleaning the suckers, replacing the suckers with some "upgraded" ones I saw linked on here - no improvement.

A future upgrade is to fit proper curtains to the van, but for now, any recommendations for some robust suckers?

Are you trying to stick it to a heated rear window?

It won’t stick then as the elements are raised and will cause the suckers to leak. Can you reposition it so the suckers are not over the elements?

Or fit a Solarplexius tinted panel that is smooth so the suckers will work. Added benefit of increased security and no condensation.

Or fit curtains or a Vanshades blind.
I plan on blinds, but off to France for a month next week and run out of time to order and fit :(

The current plan is to just bungee them to the outside of the window :D

I guess removing suckers from the Solarplexius acrylic tint panels would just pull the panels out and may eventually scratch them too.

Yeah, certainly not ideal. The suckers on my front screens can be removed gently so would be fine but more aggressive ones would be a pain and could risk pulling the screen out I guess.

Bizarrely, I may have accidentally solved my problem. I've just had a Starlink mount delivered from Amazon that came with suction cups with a pressure lock lever. I've mounted the Starlink to the rear window, and it's stayed in place for at least an hour now. If it's still up in the morning and as the mount helpfully came with a few extra suckers, I'm going to try and Heath Robinson them onto the blind.
