Help! Wheel contamination

The staining looks to me like wheel cleaner that has been left to dwell for too long.

After one initial deep clean, I've never had the need for cleaners. Shampoo and a wash mitt cleans them easily enough.
It was dragons blood iron remover, it's ment to be ph neutral, but in my defence was left no longer than the other 3 wheels that didn't show up with the same contamination, My process is jet wash the wheel, spray on iron cleaner, scrub with detailer bush, wash with oh neutral soap and water then jet wash off again. I do each wheel individually and I've never had this issue before and I've been doing it that way for 20 years.
The only time I've ever seen anything like this is a reaction from wheel acid which I never use.

Just a thought - had you been for a drive in the van beforehand?

I had a sticky rear brake calliper once - enough to make that one wheel too hot to touch!

No it had been parked up over night, only thing I can think is it had something on that wheel that it had picked up when driving that disagreed with the dragons blood. Thankfully it polished out!

As painter the general rule of thumb is never wash your car or wheels with something that you wouldn’t use to wash your cock.
And before anyone starts whining, yes I use fairy liquid to wash all the vehicles I own and work on. And, no, it’s not bad or toxic for your paintwork. And, no, my knives, forks, plates and washing up bowl or skin haven’t melted when I use on a daily basis at home either.

I'll get the imperial leather out for next time then 😂

It tiger balm is so expensive and the van won’t appreciate that warm tingling feeling.

Am wondering if that corner of your van is a target for wildlife. Is it parked on the main road, do you have a lot of dog walkers come past? to be honest, cats can release pretty nasty spray when they're being super territorial and a dogs first wee of the day is pretty potent stuff. Hope you got it sorted

That might not be a bad shout actually as it is parked outside the house sometimes, with that wheel next to the kerb and the neighbours dog does make a habit of peeing on wheels of cars as they walk past. Managed to get most of it off thankfully, I'll take it off and give it a proper polishing next time the weathers dry
