Hi
Just purchased T6 Kombi. Absolutely over the moon with it! Looking to turn it into a family friendly home from home. Any advice on first things to do? Leisure battery? Awning? Cheers

Andy

Take you time and plan!.. future proof it..
If you take a panel off or out.. ask yourself if there might be a cable or wire that might be useful there..

Camping.. got to meets and shows.. look and see how various member run theirs.. get first hand reviews.. ask questions. Don't just buy the 'norm'.

Try not to waste money on things you know you'll want to change in the future..

Be in for the long game.. it will pay off better.

P.s welcome

Hi Andy
A lot depends on what you want to end up with and what you are putting into the van.
A simplified suggestion would be to start with pop top if you're fitting one then things you won't see (insulation, electrics, plumbing) then carpet lining, floor, trim panels and finally any furniture and fittings.

I see youre at Preston I'm over near Burnley and have recently converted my van to a camper, if it helps and you want meet up somewhere in the middle you could have a look at what I've done and I could give you a few pointers.

@Tourershine recently organised a meet.. touch base with that crew and see if their planning another that you could attend.
The WestMidlands meets are starting this month but guessing thats alittle far.

Hey Tony
Thanks for the advice. Looking into what to do can be mind boggling, so much you can do isn't there. Had some great advice about making a list of what I want from my T6 and then moving forward from there.

Very true, as was mentioned above planning can save a lot of time and effort. If you are removing seats floor mats and panels to run cables etc you only want to do it once and not realise later that you need to run another cable. I found getting the main components of the build together gave me a clearer view of how they would fit into the van, where to locate them and where best to run any cables and pipes etc.
