Hello

We're giving serious thoughts into getting a VW Camper. We've been researching since around January when we were thinking about getting a Motorhome or a PVC. The day to day impracticalities of storage etc and getting the use out of one. When we revisited the idea of a VW Camper. Big enough to be used as a daily driver and day trips out etc.

So we're looking around the various sites Autotrader etc. And getting thoroughly confused. Looking into the possibility of getting a van and getting it converted so no stone is being left unturned.

I'm 6ft 2 so at peace that headroom will be "fun" as it has been in most of the PVC's I've looked at but the pop top makes the VW a more sensible choice as well.

Our criteria is:

Max budget of 60k with as low mileage as we can stretch to we may end up getting rid of the car and this become the daily driver for a while.

SWB
Has to be an Automatic
Modern Cab aircon, cruise control, CarPlay heated seats etc
Diesel Heating
Solar Panel
And room where we can have a porta potti doesn't have to be fixed.
Pop top but the bedroom not critical as are only 2 of us.

So welcome to everyone.

Welcome to the forum, you're in the right place to gather information.

Your budget is very healthy and you will easily get what you want for that. Low mileage wont be an issue.

You will want a Highline if you want AC, Cruise Control etc. Some Startlines do have but not as many.

Not sure if CarPlay comes on the T6.1 stereo, ik now it doesnt on the T6 but you can change stereo easy enough (I have)

150bhp engine is the strongest in the range, issues with the BiTurbo 204 are well documented on this forum.

Most questions have already been asked so just use the search function to research but if you get stuck, just stick a post up.

With that budget you can and will get a top spec base van and have enough for a quality conversion of your choice would be my advice
