Hello and T6 or not T6

Hi all, abd thanks for letting me in! I'm new here obviously having just bought my first VW. Having spent a few days researching my new toy I'm beginning to wonder if it is actually a T6 as I was sold. I've been through the FAQs and theres sond humorous stuff as you'd expect but nothing that convinces me for sure. The van was built in Oct 2015, registered in Dec, car vertical says its a 2016 model year but the chassis number has a 7 which I read denotes a T5. The engine is also non-adblue although I also read some if the first T6 had this engine. If anyone could help me identify it for definite I'd be grateful as it makes a difference when looking for parts. I have attached pics if that helps or is the chassis number the be all and end all regardless of appearance? Thank you

Pretty sure that's a T6, what does the dash look like?

Loads of people change front ends to update older vans, not many change the dash.

Mine's also an early T6 with no Adblue, (thankfully) registered Jan 2016 so probably manufactured late 2015.

The bit that worried me was when I was checking the chassis number and one one site it said that the number 7 denoted T5. I'm guessing that there was a bit of a crossover with the first ones built. I'm also happy to have non ad blue engine. Got a lit of tidying up to do so on a parts hunt now (front middle grill is broken)

That's a startline grille ( identified by the two thick central bars and vertical sides) Don't know if you can get just the insert piece for it. Pretty sure that's all one piece below the headlights (including the bit between the lights) and it's had a sportline chin spoiler added

Mine too, no Adblue registered March 2016, had it from new.

That really is a pain then ! bugger ! Someone obviously painted it at some point (not very well). I might have to see if the paint guy can repair it somehow before repainting it properly.

Unfortunately the grill between the lights and all the grills below are all one piece and you can’t replace just the grills on any of them. It’s a one piece startline bumper with a sportsline front skirt added.
