I have had my diesel heater fitted for over 4 years.
Strangely the last few times I have used it, the heater has set off the alarm.

I cant work out why this is now happening.

Any suggestions, or does anyone else have this problem?

VCDS should show you that last 4 or so activations from the alarm.

is its powered from your leisure battery?

Are the alarms happening since you modified the ductwork or whatever it was you were looking at doing in another thread?
Wonder if the way the hot air moves around is now ‘visible’ to whatever interior sensors the alarm has?
Or is this happening while the alarm isn’t set?

No. Powered from starter. It’s OEM alarm.
probably LOW BATTERY alarm.

the heater causing rapid drop in starter battery voltage triggering alarm?

running a derv heater from the starter battery is never a good idea and will lead to trouble.

your starter battery 5 years old now? - original?

AGMS are rated for 3-5years - so yours maybe due for a replacement.

No, the heater runs off the leisure. Alarm is off the starter. Misunderstanding. .

That crossed my mind but the heater outlet is in the same position within a few mm or so.

VCDS scan then to see last alarm activations.

will tell you if itd doors, battery, tilt, ultrasonics etc

Deffo look at the alarm history. This week I traced daughter’s Vw Beetle alarm to a tailgate sensor, which turned out to be green and crozzled, because it showed up on the last four alarms.

In the van it was a daddy-long-legs, but I got that with a bug catching lamp thingy.
