Handbrake lowering. What’s this?

Just trying to install a handbrake lowering kit so I can fit swivel seats. Watched videos online but none mention this extra wire and plastic blob screwed to the inner plastic between the handbrake and drivers seat.

Anyone have any ideas?

Good shout. It does have a diesel heater fitted, so likely. Safe to cut wire and reconnect afterwards?

Should be able to unplug it somewhere down the line but would be fine to cut and rejoin. ( there is usually no polarity to these temp sensors )
