Halo roof installation help!!!!

Can anyone who's fitted a halo roof offer some advice? After an unsuccessful afternoon I was inable to get the thing in.

The screws just wouldn't line up and the fir tree clips in the middle just wouldn't bite. Anyone who's fitted one should get what I mean.

I'm guessing you need to get the 6 hidden clips in first to shape the roof to the roof of the van as when you try to install it flat the holes are too wide for the van. I got it a while back from @Vanbus but only tried fitting today

Nah sorry. I was busy swearing and moaning haha.

I don't know if you remember fitting it but there's 6 hidden clips in the middle and screws round the outside. Couldn't get the clips in so screwed in one side. Because there was no curve the roof was wider than the holes in the van.

Hi, here is a brief explanation of the process.

Our original design had standard holes in the middle for clips, some of our trade customers wanted to use hidden clips so not on show when using suede material, therefore we changed the design to have hidden clips. And yes they are trickier to fit. Other HALO roofs we have seen don’t even se clips and I've heard people using glue, velco etc to hold up in middle.

So, the process is. Align the center clips with the holes in the van roof. If they going in and out a few times the grab will be lost as the firs bend, you will need more clips. Prop up the center of roof when doing this. Then use another prop (or person) to force the roof up halfway between the center and the edge this bends the roof panel and the edge holes will align with the inserts. The panel is not wider, its the exact same size as a OEM panel, it is just the OEM panel bends more, so you have to bend the roof panel to alight the holes. Wha aligned, you screw through the 12mm halo sections into the inserts, but dot fully tighten. Do the same for the opposite side. When both sides are screwed in, but not fully tight, then fit the rear 12mm center piece. Once all 12m parts are fitted, you can then fully tighten the screws. This holds everything place.

If you are struggling with the center fir trees, you could drill these out and put standard longer clips through. Or remove the completely and let the tension keep the ceiling up in the middle. We allow for fixings as we have had one in the past slightly bow when no fixings were used. The key is to have the center fixed up firmly and then bend the edges to form tension in the roof panel.

It is a fiddly job and we try to explain to customers that it may not be a simple fit of you are not used to such things.
