H7 headlight qdjustment

Hi all,
I bought a pair of H7 headlights off eBay to upgrade the candles in the standard H4 headlights.

Fitted now and adjusted the dipped beam fine, but the main beams are way too high (they light up house rooves brilliantly!) and I can't find any adjustments to lower just the main beams reflector aim.

Anybody have any ideas?

Three things I’d check:

• Are the bulbs seated properly?
• Is your dash levelling dial set at the top by accident?
• There are 2 plastic adjustment screws on each headlight. One adjusts horizontal, the other vertical. Can’t remember which is which.

Are they incandescent bulbs? I.e. standard H7s.

Others may have more thoughts.

Dipped and main beam H7s are seated correctly (both sides main beam is aiming too high)
Dash leveling dial is set to 0. I tried to set this to 3 to aim them down then angle the adjusters up, but the up/down 6mm hex screw moves both the dipped and main beams together.
The bulbs are Osram +200% halogen H7s.

I did find this adjuster in the main beam compartment, but it only moves the main beam left or right, and can't see another to move it up or down independently of the dipped beam.

The adjusters I’m thinking of are on the outside of the headlight casing and are shown in this post here:

Yep, you're right! Only led units in there!

Yeah the 2x 6mm hex adjusters on the top of the light casing are the other ones I used to get the dipped beam angle correct. A friend has an MOT testing garage and we aligned them on the beam setter using those 2 top adjusters.

Main beam was still way too high.

I'll get a photo next time I'm out in it.

Are they definitely RHD headlights that you bought?

Yeah, from a UK seller, they say RHD on them and the dipped beam kicks up to the left not right

Ok. Was just a thought as I’ve seen a few LHD set on eBay.
I’ve put H7 on and don’t have that problem.

Hi, I’ve just seen this thread and I’ve recently picked up some h7s to replace my h4s. Can I pick your brains on the process. I’ve plugged mine in and the incorrect lights come on and a bulb out light on the dash. Did you have to change any wiring or coding. Thanks for and advice!

Thanks for getting back to me. It would seem the beams aren’t right when connected. These are the lights I’m trying to fit. Currently I have the standard startline headlights. Thanks.

Yep, I get that but which bulbs are you talking about ?
The H7 drls are on the bottom strip, one the H4s, they are in the main light section.

Please stick to the thread you posted originally
