I'm having my front lowered next week so the wheel arch gap matches the rear, lowered by 30mm or 40mm, do I need to tell my insurance company as a mod?

yes, to be on the safe side, your changing the van from factory spec so you should notify. hopefully they wont charge anymore just will note it as a mod
