Selling a basically new Forge induction kit. I bought this a month ago from DPM Performance on eBay using a coupon, which reduced it from ~£215 (about the same as THQ) to £193. I've since had a brand-new filter to sell with it. More details below.
I went for a spin with @EricVanDynamite a few months ago (thanks!) to see what it sounded like on his TSI. Sounded nice. Noticeable, but not too intrusive. I thought I'd give it a go on my TSI, keeping in mind I had the TTE450, custom downpipe, and single Milltek sports cat. It turns out it's just a bit too much for everyday use with these other mods. Bit too loud and noticeable. I think this works well on a more stock TSI or a TDI.
I decided to remove it after about three weeks and planned to advertise it on here immediately. When I removed it, I noticed the rubber on the air filter where you secure the hose clamp looked old and a bit perished. I wasn't happy with that after three weeks, so I contacted Forge to find out what was going on. The air filter is made by Pipercross, while the rest of the kit is Forge, and they got a bad batch of cone filters recently. They are made to order (I actually had to wait for more to come in stock to fulfill the original order), so this isn't due to stock sitting on shelves like I thought it would be. Forge immediately sent me a new filter from a known good batch with next-day delivery. It arrived today and looks much better. I considered refitting it, but I know I'll just want to take it off again in a few weeks and sell it then, so instead I'm doing it now, when the metal shroud has only been installed and removed once, and the cone filter is brand new.
Anyway, thanks for reading this for sale essay
Does anyone want to relive their youth for £150 + P&P? Fits almost all T5, T6, T6.1, it seems.
