Flashing glow plug light / brakes no pressure?

Hi - 2016 T6 transporter 2.0 Diesel, 110k miles. My OH was driving home last night and the glow plug light came on and she felt a loss of power ( I guess limp mode ).

I read the codes this morning and all that's showing is P261A Coolant Pump B Control Circuit Open. Cleared the code, went a short drive, all fine.

Just went back out and started the van, glow plug light comes back on and the brakes are almost non-existent though OH said they were fine when she was driving. Any clues before I get it carted off for repair - that is, if the local garages can even fit it in before the holidays! Glasgow-ish, if it makes a difference.

When you say the brakes are almost non-existant, what exactly is that? Press hard but brakes not working, pedal to the floor etc?

Pedal almost to the floor, and a sound like air being pushed out like there's a vacuum in the lines. Very, very limited mechanical braking.

It sounds like the two issues are unrelated.

What is the brake fluid level and any sign of leakage? Could also be a leak in the brake booster - Does the pedal feel the same with engine on/engine off?
The fault code P261A is likely either the pump itself or the wiring to it.

No obvious signs of leakage, I'll need to recheck the level as it's quite hard to see in the reservoir - better light required. I'll report back later thanks!

Clarification - When I referred to a leak in the booster I was suggesting a air/vacuum leak, hence checking pedal with engine on and off.
Obviously still check the fluid level in master cylinder in case of that being the problem.
